Cyberdyne Care Robotics GmbH based in Bochum, North Rhine-Westphalia, was founded in August 2013. The principal shareholder is Cyberdyne Inc. Japan, with the German Social Accident Insurance Institution for the raw materials and chemical industry being the other shareholder. Managing directors are Shinji Uga, Yohei Suzuki and Uwe Brockmann. The company offers various kinds of HAL® systems, whereby the therapeutic systems currently form the focus of the product range. All HAL® systems are neurologically-controlled which sets them apart from other exoskeleton units. The company cooperates directly with the Bergmannsheil University Clinic in Bochum. Unfallkrankenhaus Berlin and BG Unfallklinik Frankfurt are cooperation partners for the HAL® treatment programme. Cooperation agreements with other hospitals and rehabilitation centres are currently underway. In Germany, 50 HAL®-systems are in use.

Local public transport

From Bochum main station you can take the tram no. 318 direction Bochum Dahlhausen, the tram no. 308 direction Hattingen Mitte or the low floor bus 394 direction Bochum Narzissenstr. Get off at the Bergmannsheil stop. From there turn left into the Hunscheidstr. After 4 minutes you will reach the ZNB on your right.
