TRAINING

The training is intensive. Normally, you will train with the robot suit every day, usually over a period of three months. Before starting the therapy, a physiotherapist will show you how the system works. The suit is adjusted to fit your individual stature and specific needs. You are given a routine medical check-up, including measurement of blood pressure and pulse, at the beginning of every HAL® training session. In order to document your individual progress, you will undergo a walking test to record the time you need to walk a certain distance and the number of steps you take. Subsequently, you will train on a treadmill wearing the robot suit, assisted by a physiotherapist. In the course of your therapy you will practice using your legs actively while walking over even ground and walking over small obstacles.

PATIENTEXPERIENCE
